With over a decade of experience in applied economic research, impact evaluations, and evidence-informed policy, Daniela has worked across various institutions, geographies, and stakeholders. Her roles include positions at the Central Bank of Slovenia, the International Monetary Fund, Harvard University's Growth Lab, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Her research focuses on the impact of emerging technologies and structural transformation on economic productivity and growth, as well as understanding related distributional impacts.

As a Global Economic Research Lead at AWS, Daniela developed and managed research on the economic, environmental, and social impacts of cloud computing technology and infrastructure. Before AWS, she was a Policy and Research Manager at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) at MIT, focusing on the role of the private sector, entrepreneurship, and labor markets in poverty alleviation. Selected as a G20 Young Global Changer in 2019, she contributed to the Berlin Global Solutions Summit and presented research on drivers of economic inequality at a G20 Tokyo event.

She is currently the inaugural Associate Director for Research and Technology Initiatives at Georgetown University’s Baratta Center for Global Business, leading efforts on innovative research and technology initiatives to shape global business and policy practices. She also serves as the Executive-in-Residence for Research & Development and Chair of the Global Fellows program for AI2030, an organization dedicated to the responsible development of artificial intelligence to maximize societal benefits while mitigating potential risks.

Daniela earned her Master’s in International Economics and Relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
